Turmeric is a flavorful spice that is nutritious when consumed. It has been traditionally been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine to treat inflammatory conditions, skin diseases, wounds, digestive ailments, and liver conditions. Recently we've found creative ways to incorporate this wonderful spice into our daily nutrition regiment.
A great way is by making this wonder latte. This recipe is smooth and relaxing, as well as delicious. What a great way to get a goodnight sleep. Mix up a cup of turmeric milk and sleep like a baby!
Ingredients: turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, star anise, and coriander.
How to make:
Add ½ Tbsp. Turmeric Milk Latte blend to 1 cup milk of your choice (coconut milk is classic, but other options are oat, cashew milk or hemp milk). Next add ½ – 1 tsp. virgin coconut oil and ½ – 1 tsp. sweetener of choice, raw honey is my favorite but other options are agave, coconut sugar and cane sugar.
1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm milk until just before it simmers. Whisk in golden milk spice blend until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in coconut oil and sweetener, if desired. Enjoy!
